Bass
Ben was born in Burlington, VT with a pint of Ben & Jerry's held tightly in his chubby little mitts. He spent quite a few years frolicking over hill and dale with the woodland creatures there. Eventually his prepubescent soprano tones mostly settled to where they currently reside and he was strong-armed into choir and soon thereafter into his first a cappella group: Vermont's Own Class Act. That mostly wonderful experience led to a sequence of involvement with several other a cappella groups, some dalliances with theatre productions, a living history museum, an improv comedy, as well as a crippling phobia of vests.
Ben founded St Michaels' group, Sleepless Knights, overlapping with his time as a member of Vocal Edge, then ran into a buddy from high school. This "buddy" kidnapped him from a conference in Boston, and when the trunk of the car finally opened, Ben found himself in DC and a member of Passing Notes. In the years after PN's dissolution (related to marriages, grad school, and other horrific events), Ben spent a lot of time at a cappella support groups, appearing quite bedraggled and a bit the worse for wear. Eventually, some kind members from Vox Pop took pity on him, signed the adoption papers, took Ben home, gave him a good brushing and his very own flea collar, and he's been singing with them since.
Ben's alter-ego is that of an endocrinology nurse. He enjoys running, hiking, reading, keeping fresh-water aquariums, and attempting to sleep in despite the cat's attempts to wake him up early for breakfast.
